Cho-Yabai

The title is a Japanese pun on a place called Yabacho, which is the place I rushed to grab my copy of Wasamin's Mujineki so I could attend the mini-event + handshake! I gone as far as to skipping a uni club meeting just to flying get it!

Unlike the other events I've been to, there is an entrance order! I was the 25th person!! SWEET!!

According to the NagaraPro website, there will be a mini-performance in an event space inside tower records which gave me the image that there is some back room in the store just for special event. NOPE. They simply relocated all the CD shelves in the store so that there is a massive empty space in the middle, leaving a narrow path for people going in and out of the store. A small stage is set up and a little barrier literally right in front of it. I, being the 25th person to enter meant I had one (ONLY ONE!!) row of people in front of me.

About 10mins left till Wasamin's arrival, some MC guy (sorry I don't know how he is) kept the atmosphere 'alive' which sort of failed because it's inside a store and everyone is closely bunched together so there was barely any cheering or chanting (who chants to Enka anyway?!). 18:00 o'clock, Wasamin steps on to the stage with a beautiful bright blue kimono!! Gawd she looked amazing!! What even better, I was just about 2m away from her!!

This was the costume she wore + her blog entry about the event (^_^)

First song was Mujineki (short version)!! Her voice is darn powerful!! Amazing girl!! <3 During the bridge she took a little bow, full traditional Japanese style! After that, she did a little introduction, thanking us for making her single 5th in the Oricon weekly ranking. It's always funny to hear members talk about what they think about Nagoya and Wasamin said that she likes Ebi fry (fried prawns) in the most unconvincing way lol. Next she sang Heavy Rotation (Enka ver.)!! Which is still heavily rotating in my head right now because it's so darn good! I find it funny how a white guy walks in the store just as she started singing "I want you.... I need you... I love you..." but he just totally ignored it. After that, she decided she would sing a different song she performed in Shinjuku for us!! It was 帰郷 (Kikyou), a more upbeat and cheery song compared to the other two. It really got the atmosphere lighter, everyone started clapping to the beat! Finally, she performed Mujineki one last time. The MC came back up, saying there is a surprise for us!! They're giving out Wasamin signed boards!! UNREAL!! He askes Wasamin if she needed a little break before the handshake event and she answered "Hn!" instead of "Hai!" which cracked everybody up.

Handshake time! As always, I was worried how long we'd get to talk to her. Surprisingly, there was about 6 seconds for each person!! BLOODY AWESOME!! I told her I came from Australia, which sort of shocked her and her manager (who was beside her giving out the signed cards). Then I congratulated her on her solo debut and recent birthday and she gave me a bow. SO DARN CUTE!!

...and here it is, my most prized possession!!

On my way back I went to 7eleven to pick up a little something my super-special-awesome friend got us a little while back. It's in Tokyo, it's in Don Quixote, it's for AKB48, it's the Cafe and Shop reservation ticket!! CAN'T WAIT!!
