Recent life

As of last night, things have finally started moving again. My certificate of eligibility for the Japan exchange has finally arrived! After nearly 3 months of literally doing nothing (oh and watching bucket-loads of AKB48 related things) it feels like I'm trying to pull the Queen Mary II on dry land. Excuse my ocean liner metaphor, my childhood obsession with Titanic has re-surfaced again in the last few days. So I'll be leaving for Gifu (near Nagoya, yay SKE48!) some time in September, but the exact date has yet to be finalized. I have been doing heaps of shopping for clothes for the trip (gotta look good in front of Yukirin!), practising my Japanese and doing as much preparation as I can.

The other half of the time I've just been spending money, chilling and hanging out with friends whenever they're free. We've been watching movies nearly every Monday in the last 2 months, Fast Five, Transformers 3D, Harry Potter, Captain America, Rise of the Planet of the Apes and Cowboys & Aliens. Man, I've never even watched this many movies at the cinema over a year before.

Now, back to spending money, I think I've managed to slow AKB purchases down mainly because there is just way too many things to buy, even for a grown man with a job and no wife and kids to feed. I swear, in Kinokuniya today, there were at least over 10 magazines that have AKB or one of the members on the cover. The other factor concerns mainly photocards. Yahoo Japan Auction, Commission service, yeah, those two are synonymous with the big dollar sign. Nevertheless, it didn't stop me buying these:

Recently I've started reading manga again, which is a big deal for me since I don't generally read them despite having a close friend with a room full of them. Maybe I should exploit him more eh? Anyway I've started reading Sayonara, Zetsubou-Sensei, one of Mayu's favourite as from Shukan AKB Vol. 2 extras. It's quite a funny manga and I've literally laughed out loud a couple of times. It even have references to Morning Musume which is quite the lol.

They're obviously taken out of context so you'd have to already read it to understand what's going on.

Anyway, pre-departure nerves are getting me again, I better prepare (or try to) as much as I can before heading to Japan.
