Recent happenings

It's summer! It's the holidays!! Why isn't there anything happening? Well, the truth is, a lot has happened! Since we left off last time, Sydney AKB fans has met up four times!

Everyone got Takamina-oshihen'd for a day

- ONE - Takamina Solo Debut Photo Album Project

One of the organisers of this project is the almighty TakaAON from our home soil Sydney which was super lucky of us. Although entries for the project is now closed, you can find out more from S48. This is another one of the bigger meets with 11 people turning up! We went to the Opera House and posed in front of the camera with handfuls of Takamina merch provided by TakaAON. It was a pretty risky task since we were right next to the water and the wind was pretty strong...strong enough to almost blow on of the little towels into the sea. Shoruken was kind enough to offer his hair as a resting spot of a nice green bow (takamin specialty).

After that we headed down to have lunch at a nearby Jap restaurant, a quite tiny one. Thankfully, they had a massive outdoor long table to fit all of us in since the inside was smaller than a dog kennel. We did our wota chatting and photo oogling and swaping before heading over to...the one and only place...KARAOKE!! As usual Shoruken is forced to sing Kimi to Boku no Kankei and Acchan songs by Pomokun. We also tried doing Hikoukigumo while waving towels and jackets, it was not as easy as the member's makes it.

- TWO - AKB48 Documentary, Show must go on

The screening of the movie in the Japanese film festival was quite unexpected since Australia don't really give a poop about Asian music (except SBS K-popasia and gang-bloody-nam style). Apparently, according to acq128, the movie was included because it had a big section on the fukushima disaster so the chance of the 3rd documentary being screened next time isn't guaranteed, but let's keep our toes crossed. In the theater, we were probably the loudest group (coz we're wotas ok), full volume talking and laughing, oh and did I mention lightstick waving? Although we've all seen it before, nothing beats seeing it on the massive screen. Oh special thanks to Dee_1711 for bringing us a HUGE box of sweets, tarts and bakery yummyness!!

- THREE - Mucking around with Takamina goodies

Ok, not really lol, but TakaAON wanted us to meet up again to take another set of photos for the takamina project (photo on top), pretty cool eh? It's just another (splendid) excuse for us to meet up and moan about AkiP's stupid decisions and fan-squeal about the latest tv-show and G+ posts. This meet marks (possibly) the last with Dee_1711 who moved to Melbourne to work *sobs*. We did our usual karaoke ritual and Shoruken gave us a mini solo concert "Ahhh, yoshi ikuzo!!" during the bridge of Acchan's Flower, it was priceless! We did Karaoke after and we TRIED to do Sakura no Shiori. I said TRIED because we did the whole choir voice WITHOUT mics, and I lost my voice for THREE BLOODY DAYS!!

- FOUR - Shoruken's surprise

A little meet to finish the year off, Panda didn't drown in alcohol even though her high school exam results weren't....we'll just leave it there. Shoruken brought along a fellow comrade from Melbourne, Chewybacca!!  Too bad Pomokun wasn't here to enjoy his company, he could of have a handshake/2-shot with him. We had Korean BBQ buffet! They had heaps of different meats and salads, oh and panda's favourite, bacon, I mean "bacon" (just really fatty meat that looks like bacon and taste nothing that like it). Oh and we didn't get fined for not finishing our food even though they said they'll charge us $5 if we did. Yeah right!
