On the Tuesday and Wednesday of this week, I had the pleasure of spending a poop-load of money on transport to watch the live viewing of the Ogi Matsuri! Being in the Toukai region of Japan means only ONE cinema broadcast the concert live.
On the first day, the trains at JR Nagoya halted towards the direction of the cinemas so I was almost 1 hour late, damn you JR! I went in during one of the MC before Wasamin wow'd us with her solo performance. Apparently she is the special guest (please get into Senbatsu next year!!). After that, only two Warota7 songs were performed so clearly I wasn't satisfied which was when I decided to come back again tomorrow. No3b's songs are superb as usual, especially Heart gata virus, but my favourite combo has to be the Aamin, Akicha, Lovetan during the Shanghai Japan week.
After the 'final' song, everyone was shouting 'encore', then started chanting 'Mii-chan' (because it was her birthday in case you didn't know, like a few people next to me). Everyone comes back out, sings Namida Surprise! then the birthday cake arrives, on a cart!! It looked so good that I would bite it off the cinema screen! Mii-chan asks whether it is stable or not lol. Takamina did the honor of lighting the candles but she was so nervous that her hand couldn't stop shaking lol! After that, everyone watched the birthday messages on the big screen from Hama-chan, Okamoto Rei and Fukuzawa Akira.
Then, it was all Mii-chan time! She spoke about how she felt etc etc, my Japanese isn't good enough to comprehend. And then! Watashi wa watashiiiiii!!! Seeing it live just feels like Christmas! Can't explain how much I love that song. The concert finished with Oogoe Diamond which got everyone all high and everything but, I wouldn't put that as my last song.
My first experience at a live viewing was something quite out of my imagination. There was just something about casually walking into a cinema and seeing AKB on the screen. As you walk further in, you start seeing lightsticks waving around, people shouting and chanting. I mean, where/who does that?! lol! Welcome to Japan!

Having learning my lesson, on day 2 of Ogi Matsuri I went there 2 hours early so the chances of being late is virtually impossible, and also so that I could buy a ticket since I originally didn't intent on going both days.
After strolling the shopping center for nearly 2 hours it was finally time to head in to the cinemas. Before the live started, there was an 'instructional' video explaining how 'live viewing' (ie watching a live concert in the cinemas) should be enjoyed. It actually encourages people to chant/shout/wave their lightsticks and pretty much do everything you're supposed to do like you're really there (it even said that). The last thing it said was something like "make sure you get high and enjoy it as much as possible" which made me chuckle. I've seen wota's drink before heading into a concert before so it's totally relevant.
The concert started off with Warota7's Hetappi Wink and Valentine Kiss which was mega ultra special awesome <3!! I wanted to see the Valentine Kiss costumes though =/. Following them was No3b's Kiss no Ryuusei, Junai no Crescendo, and Answer which was just as super duper!
Then, unit shuffles!! The best were Wagamama na Nagareboshi (Haruna x Komori) and Blue Rose (Cindy, Takamina, Mayuyu, Mii-chan). At the end of Wagamama na Nagareboshi Komorin askes Haruna if she could call her Ko-chan (Kojima), then Haruna wanted to give Komorin a nickname as well, so she named her Ko-chan as well (Komori) lol'd, airheads.
Since Mii-chan stole the show last night because if was her birthday, tonight was Mayu's turn!! She had 2 solo ballads which melted every heart in the entire arena & cinemas. Her voice is just too beautiful <3.
As if it couldn't get any better, it just did! No3b comes out with Kuchibiru Furezu and rocked the stage!
After the encore was a special Ariyoshi corner which I won't spoil it because it's quite funny.
The 2nd last song is Ponytail to Shushu woooo! Then it finished with Everyday Kachusha <_<.
Was it worth spending over 10,000 yen in these two days?
HECK YEAH!!
Oh, and I got me a little sourvenir!
