This and that

Life has been pretty hectic over the last 2 weeks because I was devoting every millisecond of my free time to uni's club activities. This weekend is the uni's matsuri (festival)!! and each club has to make an Omikoshi (a float the shape of a shrine) so we had to build our own one. I was somehow (unofficially) been appointed as the chief-designer for the project which was pretty cool because back in Sydney, I always had to take stupid orders from tutors who thinks they know everything. Anyway, it was good fun despite being challenging at times.


We essentially just hogged a rather large area of school for this project, here's what it's like:

We're about 85% done here, just 2 more days so go so, ganbarimasu!!

Now, living in Japan requires some skill, speaking Japanese is one of them, so you can go out and order dinner. Unfortunately, with meals in Japan, they usually come with very little veges. A gyu-don (beef with rice) comes with load of meat and a couple rings of onion. Get a ramen (chinese noodles) and it comes with some corn, some wakame (seaweed) and a few bamboo shoots. It's just not enough! So to combat that, I spend a load of yen on:

FRUITS AND VEGES JUICE!

Another thing that Japanese meals lack is BIG meat, the cheapest (and best way really) is to cook it yourself.

Of course, I'm not saying Japanese food is unsatisfying, I LOVE it, in fact, I've been pigging out in sushi restaurants where all plates are 105yen (~$1.30) !! YES!! Salmon, shrimp, eel, crab, fish roe, octopus etc. etc. for only $1.30 a plate!! IT'S WONDERLAND!!

A few weeks back, I went to Nagoya castle so I thought I'd keep the tradition of castle visits going. This time around I went to Gifu castle.

This castle belongs to Oda Nobunaga

If I remember correctly, Nagoya castle was a simple train ride then a 5min walk. Gifu castle in comparison, is a bus ride plus 300meter hike. It was just a walk in the park for me but some people looked like they were suffocating so much that they were almost to the point of passing out.

It seems like idol-related purchases has been a staple for the ending since the last few entries, this one is no different! Time to show my goodies!

NMB48 & AKB48's new single! 

I liked the 1st NMB single way better, 'Oh my god' itself sounds way too similar to K6's 'Kiseki wa ma ni awanai'. The only song I really like in the 2nd single is 'Kesshou' but the stupid pedo-rabbit ruin the PV for me. Oh, not to mention, where's my Milky?! But this single made me like Yamada Nana more, ugh, wish I bought her poster back in Osaka (= ="). As for AKB48, my favourite has to be Gondola lift <3.
